Procedure
I.               Greeting
Hello, my dear friends! Glad to see you. We have guests at our lesson. Please greet them. Sit down.
You have 5 minutes for reading. After that be ready to answer my questions.
II.            Pronunciation drill

III.         Introducing the theme
I’d like to introduce you the topic of the lesson and my expectations from your work at this lesson.
During this lesson you’ll learn some new words and word-combinations, read and act out the dialogues, listen to an interesting text and write exercises.
“East or West-home is best”-the English proverb says.
So, today’s topic is “My House. Household Chores” and we’re going to speak about your house and about duties at home.
IV.          Warming-up
Before starting our lesson answer my questions:
·       Do you live in a house or in a flat?
·       Is it big or little?
·       Who do you live with?
·       How many rooms are there in your house?
·       What kind of rooms are there in your house?
Now look at the blackboard. This is Tom’s house. He has a nice house, but he doesn’t have any furniture in his house. Put pieces of furniture to each room.

V.             Main part
1. Lexical training
To keep our house clean we have to do household chores.
To remember the words better let’s do some activities.
You have cards A with the tasks. Your first task is to match the parts of the word combinations. Put down only the number and the letter. Then make up sentences with the word-combinations. (see card A)

            2. Read and act the dialogue.
Ex.2 p.66.
Ann: I am very bored. Every day is the same. I feed tired. I get up at seven. I must make my bed and tidy up my room. I have my breakfast, I go to school, I come home and do my homework, I watch TV and go to bed again.
Mum: Come on, Ann! It’s time to get up. You can’t stay in bed all day.
Ann: What shall I do today?
Mum: You can help me. You can tidy up the rooms, or wash up, or iron some clothes, or go shopping for me, or vacuum carpets.
Ann: Oh, Mum! I don’t like to do the household chores.
Mum: Look at Terry. He gets up early. He plays football on Saturday’s mornings. He washes the car in the afternoon. He helps me with washing up. He cooks meals and even sews buttons when I ask him to.
Ann: OK, Mum. I will help you. What do I have to do?

             3. Speaking.
And now listen and tell me about your household chores. Answer the questions:
-        How do you help your family about the house?
-        What do you usually do? When do you do it?
-        Do you help your mother to do the shopping?
-        Who cooks meals in your family?
-        Do you always put things in the right place?
-        What is your favourite  work at home?

         4. Listening.
Thank you very much for your answers. I see that you are big helpers at home. Now let’s listen how Kate, Bill and Tom help their parents.

On Weekdays
It is summer now. Kate and Bill don’t go to school in summer. They have summer holidays.
On weekdays Mrs Brown gets up early in the morning. She does the cooking for her family. At 8 o’clock the Browns sit down to  table and have breakfast. Then Mr and Mrs Brown say goodbye to their children and go to work.
Here comes Tom. “Where is Mum?” he asks. He is always late to say Mum goodbye. Kate gives Tommy breakfast and then does the washing up. Bill tidies up the room and then sweeps the floor in the kitchen. Tom makes his bed and feeds the pet. It is a funny parrot. Its name is Carl. Kate waters the plants. Sometimes she asks Bill to do the shopping.
When Mrs Brown comes home the flat is usually tidy and clean. “Oh my little helping hands, thank you!” she says to her children.

Let’s check how you‘ve  understood the text. Take cards B. there are 8 statements to the text there. Read and decide if they are true or false.

5. Presenting Vocabulary

Now say to me please what things can make the housework easier?
I will describe the item for you and you have to guess what is it?
·        You vacuum the carpets with this divice
·       It helps you to wash clothes
·       You iron clothes with the help of it
·       You cook meals very quickly with it
·       This device does the washing up instead of you
·       You cook meals with it
·       It helps you to sweep the floor
VI.          Summing up.
Solve the crossword.
So, our lesson is coming to the end. Thank you very much for your work. You’ve done a great work today. The most of you were at the top. Each of you has a good mark for your work during the lesson. You also will get marks for your writing tasks on the cards.
VII.       Home task
Your home task for the next lesson is to write about the household chores you do. Use the expressions: to make my bed, to wash up, to clean my room, to set the table, to vacuum the carpet, to feed the pets, to do the shopping, to sweep the floor, to water flowers; every day, once a week, three times a week, never, twice a week.
Example: I never set the table. I wash up every day.

Our lesson is over. Good-bye.
